We love technology, especially when it can help us develop products that make us spend less time on screens. As parents of two boys, we’re always looking for ways to encourage hands-on play, outdoor adventures, and the development of real skills while living in the moment. We started CUSTM because we wanted to build a company that combines everything we love about being human.

PIERRE JOUBERT
Known to his two boys as ‘Dadman’ (self-proclaimed superhero) and ‘Funny’ (also self-proclaimed), Pierre is a late-night hustler with a new business idea every day. He’s the driving force behind our creative concepts. Pierre looooves music, golf, DIY crafts... and speaking of crafts, he’s also a fan of beer!
LEONI JOUBERT
Leoni is not just an incredible partner and awesome mom—she’s also a talented brand designer and illustrator with a double-digit award résumé. She’s had the privilege of working with some of the world’s most iconic and creative brands, and until recently, served as a creative advisor to several of them. Leoni loves the outdoors, cycling, golf, and reading (when she gets a chance!).
We’re both graphic designers and have had the privilege of working for some of the world’s most well-known and creative agencies, including TBWA, FCB, and Design Bridge, before founding Designvow in 2013. During that time, we’ve had the chance to work on brands like Coca-Cola, Nando’s, SABMiller, and FIFA. Along the way, we’ve won design and branding awards across the globe—from Loeries in South Africa to Best Awards in New Zealand, and London International Awards in the UK. Our work has also been featured in Logo Lounge, the WOLDA Design Annual, and Entrepreneur magazine. ​ While we’re passionate about great brand design, we both share an entrepreneurial spirit. From a young age, we’ve each dabbled in side hustles, launching new products and services. We've probably spent far too much money registering businesses and buying URLs. ​ Having moved to New Zealand from South Africa in 2019, we’re a tight-knit family. While we’ll always be Springbok supporters, we’re incredibly grateful to our new home, New Zealand, for welcoming us into this beautiful country.
